I was born in Wharton County and grew up working in our family ranching operation and still enjoy the ranch. After graduation from ACU, I lived in Bay City, Texas working in the petroleum industry. I was very active in Bay City and Matagorda County serving on various boards such as the Matagorda County Industrial Board, Matagorda County Fair Board, Bay City Chamber of Commerce, and was elected to the City Council of Bay City. Later, after moving to Sugar Land, I went to work for Edward Jones and joined Wallstreet Texas in January of 2003.

I am married to Joan Koonce and have 2 daughters Brittany (21) and Kellye (19).

I enjoy a variety of activities and remain active in the community.
